What a strong, parseable resume sample looks like
Structure and example bullets you can adapt — without copying fake employers or metrics you can’t defend.
Updated 2026-08-03
Good samples are almost boring: clear headings, short bullets, tools named the way the posting names them. Design flair is optional. Evidence is not.
The pattern worth copying
- A headline aimed at one target role — not five titles at once
- Bullets shaped as action + scope + tools + outcome
- A short skills line of things you can discuss for two minutes
- Education and certs only when they unlock the role
Example bullets (change the facts to yours)
If a sample invents a company or a number you can’t explain in an interview, it’s a liability. Steal structure, not fiction.
- Built a customer onboarding checklist that cut time-to-first-value from about three weeks to under two for SMB accounts
- Owned weekly SQL reporting; flagged a billing mismatch that recovered unrecognized invoices before close
- Coordinated a five-person launch to a fixed date with no severity-1 incidents in the first month

Pick the structure, then tailor to one posting: promote matching bullets, trim noise, and verify the PDF still reads as plain text. A sample is a starting point — the job description decides the final emphasis.
