Business analyst resumes: which terms from the JD are worth keeping

BA postings recycle a familiar vocabulary: requirements, process maps, user stories, SQL, UAT, backlog, stakeholders. Those words only help if your bullets show you owned the work.

Terms that usually matter

• Requirements workshops, BRDs/user stories, process mapping
• SQL or Excel analysis (name what you actually used)
• UAT, defect tracking, go-live support
• Domain language from the ad (billing, claims, logistics…)

Bullets that carry the keywords naturally

• Ran requirements workshops with Sales and Ops; delivered a prioritized backlog that cut rework on a billing change
• Wrote SQL checks reconciling warehouse totals to billing before month-end
• Owned UAT scripts for a CRM rollout and chased defects with engineering through go-live
